How to Use this Service

  • Call the library at 630-323-8188 and ask if staff can place your held items in one of our lockers. You can also text a locker request to 630-381-8885 (this # is for texts only). Please be sure to identify who you are.
  • Staff will let you know if a locker is available and, if so, will let you know your assigned locker number.
  • Staff will check your held items out to your account and place items in your assigned locker.
  • You have one week to pick up your items.
  • You will use the last four digits of your library card barcode to open the lock on your locker.

CHPL card holders now have access to full-image digital replicas of the Chicago Sun-Times and Daily Herald (Northwest Suburbs edition) newspapers. And these digital replicas are current and can be read the same day as the print newspaper comes out.

To access these, go to the library's website and click on Research >> Research Resources >> Chicago Sun-Times or Research >> Research Resources >> Daily Herald. After signing in with your library card#, click on the newspaper name that lists "image" as its format. You can then click on the date of the newspaper you want to see. The newspaper will look exactly like the print version of the paper.
