If you are 18 years or older and live/own property in incorporated Clarendon Hills, you may use the form below to apply for your library card. If your application is approved, you’ll receive an email containing your account information, and you can immediately begin using your account to access online resources -- including ebooks, e-audiobooks, and streaming movies

Please note: Some digital resources do require you to input a SWAN PIN number in addition to your library account number. To create a PIN, follow the instructions for RESET YOUR PIN.

Once you have received the email containing your account information, to use your library account in person at the Clarendon Hills Library (or any SWAN library) to check out materials, you can:

  • Download and sign in to the SWAN Libraries + App on your smartphone. When signed in to the app, you have a scannable library card barcode you can use for checking out items. Just be sure to bring your smartphone to the library with you.

OR

  • You can get a physical library card after registering online. To do this, bring a photo ID to the Clarendon Hills Library and staff can make you a physical card. This will change your library account number, but you will get a wallet-sized card and a key tag with your new library card number to keep. This process will not take long as your information will already be in our system.

Note: If you have an active library card at any SWAN library, you will need to apply for a CHPL card in person.

Think you may already have a library card? You can look up your library card number or reset your PIN online.
